Get Back Your Figure by Having a Mommy Makeover

A mother’s body goes through lots of changes as a result of pregnancy. Women who hope to regain their pre-motherhood figure will often be disappointed when all their efforts, which include a rigorous diet program together with the most rigorous exercise plan end up being unsuccessful. However at present there’s a cure for this problem – a mommy makeover procedure. The mommy makeover normally includes three surgical procedures carried out at the same time that include a tummy tuck, breast enhancement, and liposuction.

LiposuctionMommy Makeover - Liposuction

In order to sculpt the midsection and to accentuate the waistline liposuction can be used to take out fat tissue. A small tube is injected below the skin’s surface and moved around to loosen up fat cells. Suction is used through the tube to take excess fat from the body. These days the physician uses thinner tubing and smaller sized incisions to allow more accurate sculpting of the body.

Breast Enhancement

A loss of breast tissue or sagging breasts can occur due to nursing an infant. This is owing to normal hormonal changes that happen after giving birth. A breast enlargement or a breast lift will restore a new mother’s breasts to their pre-motherhood contour and size.

Mothers can choose between silicone or saline implants. Women who like a natural look might do better to select silicone implants. A breast augmentation operation is an option for mothers who would like bigger and more voluminous breasts. Placement can be done via an incision around the nipple, under the arm, or in the breast crease. Placement of breast implants by way of the armpit may not be doable if the breasts are sagging since the doctor needs better access to adjust the tissues.

When a mom wants her breasts to set higher on her chest, but is otherwise content with the size of her breasts, then the breast lift is the most suitable choice. In some circumstances, a patient’s appearance might be improved upon through removal of excess tissue. The breast enhancement procedure always leaves a scar, a reality the mother should be informed of up front. The placement location and the specified treatment will determine the size of the scar. Following the breast lift operation, the woman may expect to see a scar stretching from the nipple area to the crease of the breast. In some instances, it may also proceed along the crease also.

The Tummy Tuck

The doctor carries out a tummy tuck by creating a small incision around the pubic bone and tightening the muscles in the midsection. Before the removing of drooping skin, the physician may opt to use liposuction to take off excess deposits of fat. The level of muscle and skin laxity can vary, calling for various kinds of methods to be employed. The nature of the treatment determines the magnitude of the resulting scar. When a mommy has a scar left by an incision created during a Cesarean section, the cosmetic surgeon is able to remove it during the tummy tuck. Then there will be just one scar as opposed to two.

For reshaping the mother’s body contemporary surgical procedures, are excellent. Upon undergoing the procedure, moms may use various other treatments to improve their appearance and quality of their skin. There are certain prescription products designed to help firm up sagging skin. Stretchmarks occur when the skin expands faster than normal. A doctor can perform a laser procedure referred to as resurfacing that can decrease stretch marks or can even eradicate them entirely.

Career Overview for Nursing Aides

Because the “Baby Boomer” generation is aging, the healthcare industry is exploding! I don’t think there’s ever been more demand for healthcare professionals than there is today, and I’m sure that demand will increase exponentially over the next decade or two.

I have some friends who are talking about getting into careers as CNAs (certified nurse’s aide) because of the low cost of training for this type of career, especially when compared to a 4 year college degree.

So I’ve looked into this myself and here are some observations.

Some of the most important professionals in the health care industry are the CNAs, or Certified Nursing Assistants. Without them, it would have been difficult for physicians and nurses to carry out their jobs in making sure that patients are properly taken care of. That’s why there seems to be no end in the demand for nurse aides. There is a growing need for them in nursing homes, hospitals and doctors’ clinics.

Usually, CNAs work under the close supervision of nurses or any licensed healthcare professional. Although CNAs generally work in hospitals or nursing homes, they may also work as home healthcare workers.

Some of their tasks include assisting patients in eating, bathing and dressing. They also do other basic things that licensed medical professionals do, such as taking blood pressure and taking vital signs. They also help move patients around.

Some nursing assistants work in the patient’s home. Some of them are non-certified.

It’s estimated that the job growth for nursing aides will be about 28 percent within a ten-year period which culminates in 2016. This estimate includes those working in-home and in health and medical facilities.

Growth for in-home nursing aides is estimated to grow by 46 percent, the highest estimated growth for any health-related profession. Because of this, in-home health care sits on top of the in-demand healthcare jobs.

There are huge amounts of opportunities available for CNAs and Nurse’s Aides. There’s very low barrier of entry, as well as a great opportunity for job growth. In fact, training to become a CNA is somewhat easy and only takes about a few weeks to complete.

It’s worth noting, however, that the training, as well as the job itself could take a toll on the person physically and emotionally. Pay could also be low. Career advancement isn’t quite plentiful, but working as a CNA can be a good start to move towards other more advanced medical careers.

Requirements for a CNA career are not as extensive as other licensed medical careers. Take note, however, that requirements may vary from state to state. Each employer may also have unique per-requisites.

CNAs who work in a health or medical facility are generally required to undergo training, for which a minimum of 75 hours is usually required. As for certification, they are not required for many nursing aide jobs, but they are widely available.

For those working as an in-home nursing aide through an agency, certification may be required. The certifications that CNAs must at least have are CPR or lifesaving certification.

CNA and nursing aide courses are available in many tech or vocational schools, as well as in some healthcare trade schools. Training can be completed between six and 12 weeks.

Based on the Bureau of Labor Statistics, CNAs earn an average of $10 to $12 per hour, or an equivalent of about $20,000 to $24,000 annually.

How I’ve Learned to Deal with Allergies

I’ve learned that allergic reactions by a healthy body are a normal response to foreign substances. Sometimes this mechanism over-reacts, creating a situation where an individual is allergic to everyday irritants.

Here are some ways I’ve learned to minimize or eliminate the over-reaction of my body to allergens. I hope you find something here that helps you as well.

Since I’ve suffered from allergies, I’ve begun to carefully choose which laundry detergents I use. Certain brands of detergents can trigger allergy symptoms.

If you find that all detergents bother your allergies, you could always wash your clothing, and your linens with baking soda. Also, allow clothing to air dry rather than using a dryer.

If you’re troubled by different allergies in your home, try putting a dehumidifier or two in the common areas of your living space. This has certainly worked well for me. Reducing the humidity by at least half can really cut down on potential mold growth, and mold is known to be a big contributor to allergies.

I use separate shoes for indoor and outdoor use. I do a lot of work in my garden and always
enjoy being outdoors. I have a pair of shoes set aside specifically for these activities. When it’s time to come inside, my shoes, along with the pollen and dust they carry, are left at the door – minimizing the allergens that make it into the home.

Do you have children? I have a niece and a nephew who are troubled by allergies. If your child frequently complains of symptoms like a stuffy nose, or frequent sneezing, allergies may be to blame. Over time, these problems can make it difficult for your child to perform well in class, or reach his/her full potential. In these cases, allergy therapy may produce a marked difference in the way your child feels, and behaves.

I’ve learned to wash my hair immediately when I get inside, whenever there’s pollen outside. You do not want to allow the pollen to stay in your hair for too long, as this can trigger your allergy symptoms. I think it’s best to wash your hair twice.

Pinpoint your allergy triggers in order to prevent your symptoms. Your doctor or allergist can perform blood or skin tests to determine which substances cause an allergic reaction. This step has helped me to minimize exposure to the substances that cause the most discomfort for me. You may also be able to narrow down your treatments to target specific allergens.

Now that spring is here, you may be affected by outdoor pollen and indoor mold resulting from excess moisture in the air. Try out these tips to help you deal with this irritating condition. They may help you enjoy spending time outdoors, doing some yard work or maybe, planting some new flowers.

Ideas for Helping Your Arthritis Pain

Do you suffer from arthritis? Recently I’ve been bothered by arthritis, for the first time in my life. Oh the joys of aging! LOL

Arthritis is a condition that affects the joints of millions of people. Arthritis can be caused by infection, trauma to joints, or even (as I suspect in my own case) by old age.

The condition leaves suffers with pain and inflammation. If you suffer from arthritis and need help, then read on for some ideas I’ve learned about in my research on the Net.

Proper posture can help you maintain the strength of your joints. This is also a good way to reduce the pain linked to arthritis.

Try to stand up straight, sit up straight as well, and avoid slumping. Make sure to always keep the weight balanced between both of your legs. Both your joints and your spine will feel better, and this tactic may also alleviate some of your arthritis symptoms.

Squeeze tubes are your friends when living with arthritis. Buy them whenever you have the option.

Whether it’s the mayonnaise or jelly, opening a jar is a difficult task when your hands hurt. Buy a squeeze tube instead and the task will be much easier to accomplish. This means less pain in the kitchen and a more enjoyable day.

As simple as it may seem, it’s important that you flex your muscles at least once an hour, if you suffer from arthritis. Sitting or standing in one spot for too long can cause your joints to cramp up and give you pain. For 5 minutes, stand on one foot, with the other pushed up against the wall and then, switch feet.

Consider joining an arthritis support group. I’ve found this very worthwhile.

Friends and family members who don’t suffer from arthritis may have a hard time understanding exactly what you’re going through, and how much it affects your life. Connecting with other arthritis sufferers in a supportive environment can make it easier to cope with the chronic, day to day pain and other difficulties associated with the disease.

Take a warm morning shower. Many people who suffer from arthritis have the stiffest joints when they wake up.

Starting your day off with a warm shower will loosen your joints enough that you should be able to stretch them, which will help to prevent any stiffness you may experience later in the day.

As I said before, arthritis affects the joints of millions. It causes the joints to be inflamed and results in the sufferer having great pain.

I hope I’ve given you some good ideas to help reduce your suffering. But in any event, I would very much appreciate your comments.

Want A Great Smile and Healthy Teeth?

I’ve always believed that dental health is quite important for several reasons. Not only are teeth an important part of your appearance, but other areas of your body are affected by the health of your mouth. Here are some of my personal ways of keeping my teeth healthy.

Make sure you’re taking care of your teeth. You should floss, brush your teeth, and use an oral rinse at least twice a day. This can help prevent any problems from ever arising. If you’re unsure of what products you should be using, don’t be afraid to ask your dentist.

Be sure to locate a dentist in your area and visit for regular check-ups. When you start noticing a cavity forming, or any tooth pain, you should call your dentist as soon as possible. This is because once this starts happening, you could lose the tooth. You could also end up spending tons of money getting it replaced. I learned this the hard way! 😦

After brushing your teeth, you should always remember to rinse your toothbrush out with water. When storing your brush, try to find a storage container that will allow your brush to stay upright and air dry. If you place your wet brush into a container with a lid, bacteria has an easier time to grow. Every eight weeks, you should purchase a new brush.

Another good idea is to use oral mouthwash after brushing. While this is no substitute for brushing, using a good antiseptic mouthwash will help keep germs at bay.

Hope this helps. Smile!

Planning A Weekend Trip

I like to travel, and over the years I’ve learned a few things I would like to share now with my readers. Whether you’re preparing to leave town by car, plane, or train, here are some travel tips that I hope will help you before you embark on your journey.

If you’re a light sleeper, a pair of earplugs can really help. Sometimes hotel walls seem tissue paper thin. A good pair of earplugs (or multiple pairs of disposable earplugs) can block out the extra noise and allow you to get a good night’s sleep.

Make sure to read plenty of reviews from different sources about your travel destination. Don’t book any vacations before checking different websites and travel books and making sure that other travelers had positive experiences with your airline, hotel, cruise line, or any other service that you use when you travel.

Language is the key to making your trip easier and getting better service. Foreign travel is great fun until you need to ask for something in a location where you are confronted with only native speakers. Learning a few phrases about general things and some specific to service related needs can save you from playing charades when you really need help.

Set up an account on a “cloud” site and upload scans of important documentation that you may need on your trip. Loss and theft occur quite often during travel in-country as well as abroad. By having documentation stored in a “cloud” location you can easily access them from anywhere you have Internet access.

Frustration can occur if there are issues with your travel plans. Flights can be delayed or the right car may not be available. In these situations there are only two people who can deal with the situation, yourself and the agent you are speaking with. At the start, both of you care about resolving the issue, however, it’s very easy for one of you to lose your cool. Keep calm and stay polite. You will accomplish far more this way, and your trip will be less stressful.

So as you pack all your bags and start to plan your itinerary, remember the information found in the tips you have just read. This great advice will help you at every step of your vacation or business trip, from the very moment you set foot at your destination to the return trip home.
